#61 | | Newbie | To get your ringtones and Pics from PC to phone on a NEW Razr V3c from Verizon, (Software version GATW_X_01.0F.03P) you will need to downgrade (Flash) your phone the the last version of software (GATW_X_01.0F.02P).
I just did this on a brand new razr from verizon, and MPT works fine IF you do what Daewon_Lee said to do in the beginning of this post and in MPT change the phone from V3c to V3cm.
There is a phenomenal tutorial on the web for flashing your phone: Code: http://wiki.howardforums.com/motorola/index.php/Main_Page
I suggest you read the ENTIRE tutorial before you begin, just so things will seem familiar as you go.
There is one point in the tutorial that isnt clear enough ... when you try to run MultiFlashFlex.exe and you recieve the security key error, you must copy and paste the patch into the PST directory and then run it.
Other than that, the tut is outstanding.

#66 | | Newbie | Got my Verizon VC3 today. Followed directions, and loaded MPT and updated to current 4.04 version. Followed the instructions on changing the modem, and that did the trick to a point. I can access the multimedia app, but when I attempt to transfer a file, I get zippy. It gets stuck trying to connect to the phone somehow, and says unable to communicate.
I have Tivo server on my computer, but I disabled it.
Is anyone else having an issue like this? I can open the phonebook and enter in phone numbers, but transfering pics and ringtones seem to be a problem!
Help! | | |

#67 | | Newbie | Like capblye said, it looks like you have to re flash your phone to the last version of its software for this to work. Ill probably wait untill theres a way around all that to get it to work.

#69 | | Newbie | Unfortunately, i actually called Motorola on this, because i could NOT believe there was NO way to get data onto/off of the phone. I was lucky enough to get a nice guy from their tech support, and he told me that Verizon specifically commisioned motorola to rewrite the software for the V3c to block ANY attempts at folder browsing, file transfer etc on their Verizon model. He of course then said you can transfer contacts and calendar etc ..
I asked him about a bluetooth connection as well, and he said regardless of how you connect the phone to the PC, you must use some sort of application to view/edit/transfer data. They have programmed the software in the phone to block such requests. He even hinted a bit about flashing the phone or downgrading it, but never said it outright ... hence the reason i flashed my phone to the last version of the software.
Follow the instructions in the link i posted and youll do just fine.

#70 | | Newbie | I was able to get MPT to work fully (with MMstudio) without having to flash my phone and downgrade the firmware.
Took a about an hour to figure everything out, but there is a post in another forum that gives step by step directions on how to do this.
Involves using PST and downloading a couple of drivers, and a seem.
In the end, I was happy as I didn't want to flash the phone, and the phone can communicate with my cpu to transfer pics and mp3's without any problems... so far
