Based on my experiences, when a Nextel phone is shutting itself off
randomly, it's usually that the
SIM isn't fully seated. A lot of the
phones seem to come from the manufacturer like this. Sometimes it's not
bad enough to cause trouble at first, but as dust and dirt makes its
way into the phone over time, I guess it gets between the
SIM and the
contacts on the back of the phone and exacerbates the situation.
