How to disable?

I'm looking at the Ericsson Z525a phone and have read some online reviews.
A couple of folks who do not want to use the Push To Talk feature (extra
cost with Cingular) lament that they are not able to disable this button.
Just wondered if someone might have come up with a means of turning it
off...

Re: How to disable?

I read this method from Cingular forum and it works very well for me.
Use your finger nails to grab the PTT rubber button. Push it down a
little and then pull it out. It will not damage the phone or the PTT
rubber button. I kept the button in case of a need to put it back on
for warranty service. I then use Pillow Soft Ear Plug (buy this in
Sav-On or any drug store) to fill the hole from dirt and moisture. Now
there is no more annoying PTT initialization prompt.

Splendid! I'm pleased that I asked that question and that you are the kind
soul who came by with some assistance. Many thanks! I'll get one of the
plugs and give it a shot!
