USB Drivers for the KRZR

Does anyone have any idea about how to connect my KRZR to my PC?

I just want to move pictures and audio files to/from my PC and Phone.

Re: USB Drivers for the KRZR - What a rip off

Ok WHY on earth should I need to BUY a driver for a device I already
own?

Isnt that a TAD like being nickeled & dollared to death?

For petes sake it's a USB device. Let us connect to it, Motorola! If
you want more money, just freakin charge more for it.

But instead, slap, we have to go back to the store and "buy a copy of
mobile phone tools"?

Why should we have to pay money to put a song or picture we already own
ON the phone anyway?

I suppose the only way to get a picture off the phone is to pay
motorola more money to have a way to do that? Do they keep rights to
the pictures I take on MY ( their? ) phone?

Do I actually own the phone? ((((( [poof] HEY! Where'd it go! )))))

Use Bluetooth to your PC and you can do it for free. BTW, you can buy
Mobile Phone Tools for about 10 bucks on ebay. Don't blame Motorola.
They package the bundles according to what the carriers order. The OEM
package includes the CD and the cable.

Re: USB Drivers for the KRZR - What a rip off

Why not at least make a driver available for download on some web site?

Give me a break, Motorola. A stupid move in a market DYING for a reason
for us to be loyal to a company.

Six Sigma my butt....

http://www.cingular.com/midtolarge/communicationmgr
"Download the latest Communication Manager software here. "

This contains all of the Cingular supported devices. You can install the
application and uninstall it, which leaves the drivers installed.

The driver will be installed, but the driver won't do much for you.
You would be able to use the phone as a tethered communication device.
One application that will do transfers is Motorola Phone Tools.

If you buy a Bluetooth adapter for a PC, it probably comes with an
application that will transfer sounds and images. The DLink DBT-120 does.

Re: USB Drivers for the KRZR - What a rip off

AGAIN - It's not up to Motorola. They package the phone the way the
CARRIER orders it. That way the carrier can sell it cheap and/or make
you pay extra for the other things. Want it all in the box? Buy a
Motorola branded package - not an off price carrier branded unit. I
always get my new Motos from Hong Kong and get more stuff than I even
need.

Re: USB Drivers for the KRZR - What a rip off

Bruce,

Thanks for the replies - but Motorola said what you said: BUY the
DRIVER.

They said today it has nothing to do with the carrier: Motorola should
post the driver on their website for download like every other USB
device manufacturer.

USB is for one thing usually: connecting it to a PC. But Motorola is
using it as bait to have us buy another $40 package.

This has nothing to do with the function of making calls. This is just
moving files on or off of it. That's between the PC industry and the
peripheral industry. And motorola is making a clear point that they are
going to make you pay to use your device in this way.

That just sucks.

While we're in *****ing mode, why charge for MPT anyway? The Nokia
communication packages are free downloads from Nokia. It's not like
you can use the software for anything other than connecting to their
phone.

If everybody here spent half as much time googling as they do *****ing
they'd already have the software installed and running for free. It's
