Can I unlock a T-Mobile T309 to cingular?

I got a Samsung T309 and its locked on T-Mobile and can I unlock it for Cingular?

Yes, as long as you've had the phone for 90 days and have used it.

Call T-Mobile and they will give you an unlock code.

Well, the thing is its not my phone. It was givin to me becasue they cancled their service so its really not in anyones name. I did some research and came up with this : Put in your SIM card, when the Wrong Card error comes up enter. *2767*2878#. This worked and now my Cingular SIM works in this t-Mobile phone. Only thing is when I shut off the phone, it all gets reset, and I have to enter the code again.

You could order a T-Mobile prepaid sim and put $25 into it so you'd have it for 90 days and then you could ask for an unlock code. Although, I'm not sure if they let prepaid customers unlock their phone.

Well I did it with a code that I posted above and it wqokred I just can shut it off cause it resets. So I guess its not that bad. This isnt going to do anything to the billing with Cingular right? They wont know I swapped phones right?

I wouldn't think so.

As long as you're content with typing in the code everytime, then so be it.

That's what I do with my phone. I've heard, though, that it's best to take out your phone when it's done charging.

By the way, I like you homemade Cingular logo in your signature. Very cool. I'd just change the font to Century Gothic. It looks more like the real thing that way.

just go to a website and get it unlocked... or find someone in your area that does it for you... check craigslist in your area. that way you don't have to put the code in every time... it's only like 20- 30 dollars.

Dear u can unlock your t-mobile by doing these steps :-

1. PUT IN A SIM CARD THAT IS NOT A T-mobile sim card!!!!

2. at the "wrong card" screen press *2767*3855# and let it reboot(restart).

3. It will start up and it will look like it is unlocked but ITS ONLY TEMPORARY!

4. Now press *7465625*638*00000000*00000000#....some message will pop up and disappear...

5. Now press #7465625*638*00000000# and a message about network lock INACTIVE..and now your phone is UNLOCKED FOREVER!!!! (your welcome!)

6. to make sure it's unlocked press *#7465625# ...don't worry this is only to check...
