how to remove file with BITPIM for LG vx8300

I downloaded two ringtones using the Mobile17 service, all was good...I then decided to remove one of the ringtones using BitPim..I saved all of my original phone information first...
After I received the phone's information, I open the ringer file and deleted the ringer I didn't want, then sent the information back to my phone...But when I checked my ringer file, the folder and ringer are still there...

What am I doing wrong and If I need to, how do you return the original file back to the VX 8300...

You can't just go into the phone and delete the ringtone that way?

go into Bitpim and open up the tree. You will have to find a folder that is called "mr" means my ringers. the file will be their and delete that. Then find two files, myringer.dat and ringersize.dat i belive and delete those as well. Exact location i dont remember on that phone. I got a treo now so i dont have it any longer
