Samsung U740 shut down problem - stumped verizon and samsung

Hi,

My sch-u740 turns off if I leave it charging over night. I am not sure exactly when but when I wake up the phone is off and says charge complete. Samsung believes it is a software issue, verizon has no clue and just keeps sending me new phones (3rd one is on the way). This is not good because obviously I can not receive calls when the phone turns off but also the alarm is useless.

Am I to believe that I am the only one in the world having this problem with the phone that Verizon nor Samsung has any clue what to do?

It seems to me more likely to be a charger or battery issue since it happened with 2 different phones but samsung basically ruled that out. The phone does charge so something at some point is turning the phone off.

Anyone experience the same thing with this phone or any phone or just anyone who can shed some light on the issue?

are you only being sent phones? Are you keeping the same battery and charger?

Just to let you know, in your state, your phone may qualify for local lemon laws, so if this 3rd phone doesn't work...

Yea, I am just receiving new phones and keeping the battery and charger. Could you tell me more about lemon laws for consumer electronics? I thought it only applied to vehicles?

I would defiantly go with a new battery and charger!

would verizon cover a new battery and charger under TEC? This has been a problem with the phone since I bought it. I would have taken it back within 15 days for a refund but I didn't have to charge it at night during that time because the battery was fresh! Ugh what a scam.

The 3rd phone I am on now has had the same problem so I figured it must be a battery or charger issue since it is such a rare issue. However I found someone on another site who told me this:

I do not believe it is the battery since both of the phones have had new batteries. I have also exchanged a few chargers (which Samsung suggested) and this has not solved it.

For the time being I have just been charging my phone in the morning when I wake up. This is honestly the only problem I have had with this phone.

It is funny how they say this is the first they have heard of the problem since I have spoke to a lot of people at both places and it seems you have too. I cannot imagine no one else has called about it too!"

I was having the same problem. It appears this happens when you set a video from memory card as your wallpaper on the main screen.
