There is no such thing as the best phone. There is only the phone that best fits your needs.

Some people require things that others don't. I spend a lot of time reviewing cell phones and I couldn't possibly make a judgement as to which phone is the overall best.

Heck I'm having trouble deciding whether I want to stay with my current V3i, or go to a KRZR, a Ming or a Blackberry Pearl. The thing that is so cool is that we have all these wonderful choices.

Wow Wirelessfan - I agree with you 100%. That says it all. The razr doesn't work for the area around here for us because a tri-mode with an antenna gets far better reception. The internal thing doesn't do the trick (my neice has a snazzy play toy after her dad got fed up with his razr and went with a different Motorola)
Everyones needs are different and fortunately there are plenty of phones out there to cover them.

Razr v3i D&G v3i's, v3x, v3xx, razr maxx, v3m etc...and all all their colors well i dont think its milked to death yet but motorola has a death grip on it. i mean i cant blame motorola they like to make money and well as long as people out there keep buying it motorola is gonna keep making it not to mention phones like it (Rizr, Krzr etc..)
and working for a company that deals in phones i can tell you this is the top seller everyone and their mom is buying this phone literally

The most popular selling cell phone in history. Why would any company stop selling it? Any suggestion that they should is just silly.

The Razr line will be discontinued when people don't buy it anymore. Plain and simple.

i'm not suggesting they should stop making it. but from a consumers point of view innovation is good.

Jus picked mine up the other day. Picked up a Razr V3t from T-mobile and LOVE it so far. No complaints and I am glad I found this forum on the how to's on it.

Re: Is Motorola is milking razr to death?

My primary requirements for a cell phone are:
1. Is the ring loud enough
2. Is the voice loud & clear
3. Is the reception good
4. Is the phone reliable

Then all the things begin to get folded in. My original V3 razor was exactly what I wanted & worked perfectly for appx 4 yrs. I updated to a V3xx and it is one sweet phone. Reception & voice/volume was slightly improved.

I have dropped both these phones & haven't exactly babied them, but two of the finest phones I've owned.

I recently changed carriers because I live in a rural area & have now had my Razor2 V9m a few days. Wow! Knockout phone. I tried the LG for a short time between the v3xx & the razr2 & didn't care for it. I absolutely love my new razr2. I is all the things I want & need in a cell phone. Actually more than I need, but I did get unlimited internet access, etc.

I don't see Motorola riding a good horse to death at all. I see a fine phone built upon a successful line of phones. Like any other good & successful product.

I looked at a lot of phones & services, but honestly picked the best for what I want. I did get my daughter a Motorokr Z6m. If I had to pick any other phone if the Razr2 wasn't available, I'd go back to the V3xx.

I don't slant my views towards what I'm using. My views come from my experience selling cell phones. I tend not to sell the ones that come back to me with problems, and the RAZR is one of the phones that comes back the most. From a sales perspective, the RAZR is a headache. Whether you like it or not, marketing is what made that phone successful because it is subpar in almost every aspect to other phones in the same category.
I agree with the marketing comments. I have had one about a year because of a lady friend's advice. She is a real estate sales person so probable not has a chance to work phisycally much. I do so the phone gets a little bit of a work out. In the time I've had it,I've had to replace it once because of dropping it while sitting down(about two feet). I've had to take it in because of simm card problems. Twice for getting a message and not working at all till the took it apart and "blew" it out.Saying it got a little dusty(Could not see the dust) Centennial said this is a "common" occurence. The ear part has too be adjusted to a certain spot or you can't hear the other person very well.

Thank goodness for the maintenance insurance I took out. When my year is up in about a month,I will be getting a different model.Maybe Nokia brand. I ask around a lot before making decisions and I've gotten a lot of similar comments. So I'm not alone.
