Sprint - use phone as modem ?

I currently have a T-mobile phone - but their "edge" plan sucks, only 100kbps download speed.

I am on the road a lot with a laptop. I want a phone that I can use as a modem to connect my laptop to the internet.

I need the speeds to be much higher a regular dialup modem...I heard cingular does 800 kbps down on their network, is that true?

Also, I currently have a T-mobile MDA phone (GSM)

Does Sprint/ATT have a similar internet plan ?

thanks

Yes, Sprint does have a plan for that and with Power Vision phones you can get speed up to 800 kbps. A couple good phones to use for that are Samsung A920 and 900M. I have the A920 and the speeds I get are faster than my cable service to be honest. I canceled my cable modem and now use that phone specifically as a modem.

wow, that's exactly what I'm looking for.

How do you connect your phone to your laptop? usb cable or bluetooth?

Can you connect to the internet from ANYWHERE on sprint network or ONLY
the 3G enabled network? How much does this plan cost per month ?
