UNLOCK phone???

Hey peoples, I've got SE Z710i locked with fido. Is there anyway to unlock this, because I am tired of the problems (bill/customer service) with fido and plan on switching to telus or bell.

1. You can ask fido for an unlock code.
2. You can get it unlocked for around $20-$30 from a private company. (Search around google for this).

Also you can only bring your unlocked phone to a company that uses GSM technology. Telus and Bell both use CDMA thus do not have the support for unlocked GSM phones. Your best option if you want to get rid of Fido and keep your phone is to get a Rogers Sim. Anyway if you have any more questions please post them in this section.

For one i wouldnt reccomend "bell"....and 2, theres n2m you can do about unlocking your phone unless you do indeed pay or buy a whole new phone all together. Cancel your sub or wait till it's over and move on to a better company.

I personally own a SE Z710 locked to Fido, and I understand how frustrating it is with all the locked features and not being able to go to other providers. I recently phoned JDCellular, a private company for repairs and unlocking and flashing and unlocking it cost $50 CDN.

I wouldn't suggest trying to unlock it yourself, give it to a store.
When I got mine unlocked it only costed $30 Canadian and it only takes like 20 minutes for them to do it.

Like youcell said, Bell and Telus don't use SIM cards, they program it into your phone, so unlocking it for them wouldn't work, just wait for your contract to end then sign a new one with Telus or Bell, but be careful, telus and bell programs your number into the phone, and that can turn out to be a real pain.

they won't always help you unlock it....either you are lucky and their willing to unlock it or find a cellphone unlocking program or shop
