Samsung u740 (Verizon)

Who has this phone and what do you think about it?

My biggest issue is the layout of the keys, and trying to read (navigate) the numbers while in standard flip mode. Likewise, trying to use the numbers while in text (side flip) mode.

Anyone else have this issue, and if so, have you been able to work through it?

I have sold quite a few of them at my store, and I just ordered one myself. I am just wondering if I should replace my enV with this phone or not. Unfortunately, it only has a 1.3MP camera with fixed focus and I take quite a few pictures with my phone.

I was searching for info on this phone and found your post. I notice this post is a couple of months old and has no replies. Did you ever get any feedback on this phone I am researching it myself right now and I am thinking I can get used to the keys. I am most worried about call quality the weak camera is not as important to me. thanks for any info you might have.

First, I was surprised that nobody posted, but I have seen numerous other posts for this same model.

Second, I have more than gotten used to the keyboard, it is very easy to use.

Thanks for the reply, I have been trying to keep up with the rest of the posts on this phone. I am a little scared about the signal strength, I have read some bad reports on the net. I may look at the moto razr2 when it comes out.

Don't hold your breath, Verizon is not likely to pick up that model. And as for Samsung's signal strength, I have never had a problem, even inside the mall or any other building.

hi im new to this board. i would like to know how i can turn an MP3 song into a ringtone on the verizonwireless samsung u740. i was never able to find out how i can make 1 of my mp3s into a ringtone. and the u740 is an awsome phone. if i can get 1 of my mp3s as a ringtone then it would b the best thank you

Thanks Vegas, but it should be noted that there are some issues with the U740 and ToneThis. I have been using the program for quite a while now with my LG and Motorola phones, but have recently had problems sending to my U740. Approximately 1 in 5 attempts will go through. I have not figured out why, but I will keep you posted if I do.

paul...do you use the web browser much? It works fine for checking my AOL email but a lot times I'll try browsing forums that I read and other sites and a message will pop up saying "not enought memory". Whats the deal?

Mobile Web is not capable of any "real" web surfing. The only way to get an actual website on your phone is to use a PDA.

hi i just got the samsung sch u740 phone a few days ago i had the lg9800 that was a great phone only thing was it felt like i was carring a brick around ,but what i miss is on the lg 9800 i could put movies on there but on the sch u740 i seem not to be able to do this or am i doing something wrong or cant this be done. i am using 3gp converter.other then that this is a great phone

I had 3 seasons of Family Guy on my u740, along with 2 full length movies. The processor on the u740 is a little slower, but fully functional for watching video.

I actually just picked up a u740 today. I didn't want the new Q cause it's just the old Q with WM6, and the vx9900 still seemed too fugly to me.
