Re: Motorola RAZR2 V8, V9

Well the V9m is EVDO/CDMA, the V9 is 3G HSPDA (and quad band GSM in US model) and the V8 is GMS, so each is network/carrier dependent.

But networks aside, I'll probably go for the V8 simply because my main carrier uses GSM (Rogers). I do like the V9's keypad with the the slightly curved lines that accent the chin of the phone and the fact that it and the V9m both have memory expansion slots. The V8 doesn't have a mem card but does have alot of on board memory (up to 2gig with reported update coming); but I like to have the actual card in my little hands when transferring images and switching from laptop to desktop PC's: can keep loads of wallpapers on the card without having to transfer all to the phone and use up it's memory.

Other than that, most of the features are pretty much the same. I have read that the phone is a huge fingerprint collector so that is a bit of a turnoff (having a polished v710 with the gloss black glass - I know all about the fingerprints) but all in all the RAZR2's are looking up to be great phones.

I see the States has received the V9 and V9m's with Verizon and AT&T but in Canada we have no word yet on release date for either of the 3 models: even Moto Canada has no mention of the RAZR2's on it's site yet.

Re: Motorola RAZR2 V8

This may be a tad OT but I just had to ask

Does anyone have Programs to add and remove ringtones ??

Does anyone have a program to add and remove games = .jad/.jar files ??

Does anyone have a program to add and remove skins ??

I had a Razr V3 and was able to do all that stuff but I
just got a Razr2 V8 and am having a he** of a time getting
the things that I want on My new phone.

Thanks, Roggue

Re: Motorola RAZR2 V8, V9

I have the V9m with Verizon. It is the best phone I have had since the MicroTac models. I have dropped it several times accidently about 4 ft and no problems except the back popping off. It is very sturdy and very well built. The only problem I have is my pc will not read the micro card so I can't transfer photos.
