samsung SCH-U740

Hi, does anyone else have a problem with the time showing on the front screen of the new verizon samsung SCH-u740. It shows for about 10 seconds, then gets dim, and then is gone..and the only way to bring it back is by pressing a button, where it will again only last 10 seconds. I prefer the time to be constantly on. I've gone over ever option in the phone menu and cannot find one that will allow the time to display nonstop. It's really annoying because it looks as if the phone is OFF all the time. Thanks.

That's a standard feature for any recent phone, keeping the screen on all the time would kill the battery life.

You can change the duration. Simply go to tools & settings, display settings, backlight, and choose the duration you prefer.

yeah...unfortunately, that's not for the front screen backlight...it's for the main screen

There is an option for the front screen as well just check the options. My husband found it. But I don't know exactly how he did.

This confused me at first too, but I figured it out.

Go To:

Menu
Settings&Tools
5. Display Settings
2. Backlight
1. Display
2. Brightness

and adjust brightness to however you want it.

I'm pretty sure duration, option one of the last step, will contribute to your solution too if you select Always On.

Correct! It will, and it will also give you a message that says it will lessen battery life if you always keep it on.
