Yup. The last time I had to get mine replaced (wow, does that sound pathetic), I said "Do I really have to have another chocolate?". They said, "Since this will be your third one, the next time you can replace it with a different style.". Gee, Thanks!! That's reassuring!

My husband got his new chocolate phone in September and Now it freezes up in the get it now programs, and it reboots every time we get an incoming call. I just recently noticed problems with the touch buttons too. I'm going back to Motorola!

The 3rd time that my son took the replacement phone back to Verizon they issued a totally different phone.
He's had it for a couple of weeks and so far so good.

I am on my 4th LG Chocolate, in 10 months. Verizon has sent me 3 different refurbished phones. They said my option was to get a new model, which would mean I would have to "extend" my contract.

Each one i've had, has had different problems.

If you do replace it, then you could spend some more money to get the enV. That's the phone that breaks the least at Verizon. And if you have the time, you can unlock it fairly easily (at least that's what I've heard).

I absolutley hate my chocolate, the ONLY thing i can use is my numbers and anything on the sides of the phone...all of my work hours are stored on the phone and i can not get them, I was a fan of LG until i got this phone and now im discusted they would release something this low. i wont recommend this phone to anyone, and it also SUCKS for text messaging, on my old nokia i could text without even looking but this one likes to press 2 or 3 different keys at once. if i can ever get my hours off of this phone im going to see how many pieces it breaks into when meeting a brick wall. i dont want a replacement at all, i'd rather spend 5-6 hundred and buy out a good PDA than get a free chocolate.

Just a hint - I got my Chocolate 8550 in December - I love it but I got the Ice Blue one and I do a lot of texting - I have an awful time seeing the letters on the keys. They are white against a light blue background making it very difficult to see. So maybe take that into consideration when you get your wife a Chocolate - maybe consider getting her one of the darker colors if she is going to text alot.

I wish it were true that Verizon would replace the Chocolate. I am on my 5th one. The Chocolate is too sensitive and will sometimes call someone while it's just in my pocket. Maybe that's a Verizon scam to get you to use up more minutes, I don't know. And often I receive a call from someone in my phonebook, and it asks if I want to add them to my phonebook! It then beeps incessantly until I click "No". It even does this when I call my voicemail. I have gone around and around with Verizon, where I have been a customer for many years, but they just say well we will send you another Chocolate. No Customer Service means no repeat business. I have two Verizon accounts and three Verizon phones, but when the contract runs out this time I will dump Verizon for their indifference to customers.
