SE K850i O2 keeps switching itself off and now won't turn on

Hi,
anyone else had a problem with the K850i. Mine started about a week or
so ago, when I noticed that my phone had switched itself off.
At first it was a minor irritation, but over the last couple of days it
has got worse.

This evening it turned itself off and now won't turn back on. I've tried
removing the battery, etc.
I know it was charged up, so it wasn't that!

So I phoned O2, the person I spoke to admitted there were some problems
with the model but mainly to do with texting.
anyway I now have to take Tuesday off as an annual leave day to wait in for
parceline to come and exchange with another one.

Will not allow an exchange at my workplace,

Andy

Re: SE K850i O2 keeps switching itself off and now won't turn on

Now this is weird, today I attempt to turn my phone on, nothing happens,
but I've got loads of contacts, music, some photos etc.

anyway I try something i tried last night( didn't work then), I plugged into
the charger this time without the sim ( in an old phone),

guess what , it showed the charging screen, with a virtually full battery.
So i\turned it on and was asked to insert a sim card or watch the demo.
Watched the demo- very slick, and then turned it off. Put in my sim and
turned it back on, success it now works.
I think the firmware for this model is very flakey, shame on you SE
for putting out a phone in this state. I'm going to leave the phone in
standby mode for a long as possible to see if the problem reoccurs.

I'm thinking to go ahead with the exchange anyway, just in case it's
intermittant fault with just my phone.
just in case anyone else is having the same problem as me.
