MotoRazrV3 Earpiece

I have a Razr V3, bought refurbished from Cingular about a year ago. It's worked great and I've had no problems with it until now. The other day, it started breaking up in the middle of a call, like it was in a bad area. It was the same outside, inside, in a different state, and in a different part of the city, so I guess the earpiece has gone out because it works perfectly on speakerphone. Any other thoughts on what other problems could cause this? I haven't dropped it or anything like that. Thanks.

You could try a firmware update.

I did try that, though I think it's a hardware problem because if I press on the outside screen while I am using it, I can use the phone normally.
