Had mine updated for a while, but I just wanted to mention that the hack to allow tethering to a computer still works after the update (I reset it before upgrading, then redid the hack after getting it back).

yeah, the people at my verizon store are not very smart. i told them about this firmware update, and they did the *22899, *228, and told me i was "all done" i tried to explain that it was firmware and not software, but they didnt really understand.

lol, yea, i went to one store and he looked at me funny. I tried another store and they did it for me in 45 minutes.

One question - what is this *22899, *228 you mentioned? Can we use that to update our software automatically?

it updates your software, but not firmware. if you do a search for the thread "helpful verizon codes" it has a list of a l,ot of them.

i upgraded to version 9. can i go back to version 7? where can i download it from? i am so mad right now! i have been with verizon for almost 2 years now and now they disabled bitpim!
