I Need Help Unlocking My Sprint Rumor

I have been looking and trying to find a way for me to be able to unlock my phone. I dont want to use any of the sites that come up when i google. I dont trust them and i dont want to pay either. Can anyone help me unlock my phone? I just need to code and the step by step instructions that I dont ruin my phone. Its a Sprint Rumor once again.

NoNoNo Sorry, What I meant to say was I am trying to unlock my phone. For example I have Sprint and I just got new service from a diferent service pervider. I am trying to unlock my phone so I am able to use it w/ a diferent service perbvider.

It all depends who your new provider is.

That will not work, even if you were to unlock your phone, chances are your new provider will not flash the phone with their software...

Unlocking CDMA phones does not work the same as unlocking GSM phones which used sim cards.

True. True. cdma unlocking never recommend. It gives you a much of errors and may not even worth unlocking, the only provider that I've seen that unlocks cdma and works a lot better..is cricket. If your new provider is not cricket, dont waste your time. If its cricket, you wont have as much headaches.

Well its kinda w/ the same pervider.... I am wanting to use the phone for BOOST MOBILE. It's basically the same company. Do you guys still think it's not a good idea to unlock the phone

Yes it's the same provider but Sprint and Nextel use different technologies..

Nextel/Boost use Iden and Sprint CDMA, not compatable.

Hi there. I'm also quite interested in finding out more about my phone, the LG Rumor LX260... I just signed up with Sprint, and I for one like my plan a lot... Anyways.. I have aquired some different menu codes through various net searches. The only one left to find is the SERVICE code, (NOT the unlocking code) to open my debug menu. I'm fairly experienced in tinkering with the debug menus, so I'm really not terribly worried about "messing up" my phone. I know the debug menu's "code" is: ##DEBUG#, but as soon as I punch it in, it wants a 6-digit "service code"... I've tried the typical "000000", which has been LG's standard debug menu code, but it does not work. If anyone knows any info on this, please let me know. I'd greatly appreciate it. I'd be more than willing to supply the rest of the menu codes I've found in return.

(I hope this post is not breaking any forum rules. It shouldn't be, since I'm not asking for an UNLOCK code -- I have no desire to change services.. I just want to tweak some of my phone's settings is all.)
