I'm looking for a Canadian cell phone plan that I can get started on right away. I'm 17 years old, living away from home and my parents will not sign a cell phone contract for me since they do not know I'll be in Canada for X years.
The most important thing I'm looking for is texting-- and the ability to do lots of it. I liked the look of Fido's $16 value plan fido[dot]ca/portal/en/packages/value_packs.shtml but I don't know if I'll be in Canada for 3 years.
If I happen to move away from Canada, how easy would it be to find someone to transfer this contract to? Also, if I have to be 18 to sign the contract it would complicate things but I can't find such information on their site.
So if a contract plan is not good for me, does anyone know of a prepaid plan that charges monthly or just doesn't charge $.15 per text message (that's what Rogers charges)? I don't see myself needing to do much voice calling. |
