IMEI numbers?

Hi everyone, recently purchased a new LG Chocolate 8550 and am currently loving it. Just bought some software for it though and it requires my IMEI number to work, so thats why I've come here.

I've already done some reading on the subject but I can't seem to find my IMEI anywhere.

I'd much appreciate any help on the matter. Thanks in advance!

Open the battery cover on your mobile phone and remove the battery. The IMEI number should be located on the white label under the battery. It will be 15 to 17 digits long with no letters or slashes. You only need the first 15 numbers.

Re: IMEI numbers?

Easiest way to get your IMEI number is to type *#06# on your keypad. It will then be displayed on your screen .

Re: IMEI numbers?

@camstuf

I checked out the box and there was nothing I could find about it.
I also opened the phone up, and there was no 15 digit code anywhere to be found.

@Zarphor92

Typed that in, no luck.

Can anyone else think of other ways I may be able to find out my IMEI number? Thanks much.

Re: IMEI numbers?

Hmmm... well that's very strange... both the methods listed above shoud've provided some form of result... Your operator should be able to help assist with the problem, so it might be worth giving them a call. What is the software you're wanting it for if I may ask? If it's nothing too unique, there may be an alternative that requires no IMEI .

Re: IMEI numbers?

The software I was looking to purchase was G-thing.

I was just looking at the back of my cellphone and there is something called an MEID number that looks like it might be remotely similar to IMEI. Nothing else though.

Anymore help on the matter would be much appreciated.

EDIT: Sadly enough I just realized my phone isn't even supported for the program... are there any known alternatives?

Thanks much.

Re: IMEI numbers?

IMEI is your ESN or serial number.

Mmm, either way it is incorrect. I need my actual IMEI number, a 15digit number. My serial isn't 15 digits unfortunately.

Re: IMEI numbers?

You could buy a bluetooth adaptor for you PC and send the necessary files over to your phone - that's almost guaranteed to work - I just dunno about the games, as they can be a bit picky, but the music, pictures, videos and anything else should work. Also, have you tried looking in your phone box? Most phones come with a data cable and some software for doing exactly what you want to do anyway .

Re: IMEI numbers?

Yeah. The phone box simply included the USB cable and some software for transferring music. I might just go ahead with the bluetooth idea and leave it at that.

Thanks everyone for the help! (Teddybear1, camstuf, and definitely Zarphor92)

Re: IMEI numbers?

If you don't install the music software and just plug in the phone, there is a chance it could just be recognised as a storage device. So long as you know where to place the files you want on there, you should also be able to upload the files you want that way too. I'm positive the bluetooth will work (I just dunno about the games), but it will perform a lot slower than the cable just in case you didn't know ( probably about 2 mins for each song transfered).
