LG Glimmer: Help!

Hey all, I'm new here.
I'm only 15, and I have a question about the Glimmer. (quite a name, huh?)

Anyway, I've had a problem I've yet to resolve:
Every time my phone rings, it starts out really quiet, then progressively gets louder. I just want it to be loud so I can hear it first, not a fade in.

I've checked about every setting possible and I'm losing hope.
I hope I can get some feedback.

Thanks,
Neal

i spoke to alltel about this yesterday and was told LG will be administering a firmware fix for the phone on 5-22-08. it will replace the sequenced loudness with a three second pause after the first ring.

I talked to alltel yesterday 9-2-08 and they said no fix. It is for "our safety". the ascending ring is because it only has one speaker, of which is in your earpiece and if you drop your call and get called back it will not bust your eardrum.

Joan1957:
you might want to listen closely to your ring volume. the fix they did on my changed from a very low volume increasing until it was a moderate volume to one low volume ring, a pause, and then a noticeably louder ring. your phone might have already been modified.

go to another store if yours won't do the fix. call alltel and complain. what good is your phone if you can't hear it ringing?

I will, Thanks. It Mine starts out low and gradually gets louder. When I hear it, it is already on the next to last ring or the last ring. But then I carry mine in my pocket. If It was in a phone case I wouldn't be able to hear it or get to it fast enough.

Re: LG Glimmer: Help!

I got the latest firmware from alltel and still wouldn't work, but they tell me it is a safety precaution because if you are listening to music the ringer doesn't kill your ears which is kinda good but bad too if you understand what i'm talking about. I also noticed that the second ring, after the soft one is really loud, well at least on my phone it is. Don't want my eardrums killed on the first ring when I listen to music. I carry mine in my pocket too and I have no problems hearing mine. Hope this helps anyone...
