#4 | | Mr Admin Guy | Some new news from this: Do Not Call list warning for cell phones called a hoax Quote: |
The registry, which was created in 2003, makes it illegal for sales calls to be made on home phones. Cell phones can be registered on the list, said FTC spokesperson Mitch Katz, but there is generally no reason to do so. It has always been illegal for telemarketers to use automatic dialers to call cellular phones, and nearly all of them use that method of dialing out.

#5 | | Junior Member | I saw on the news the other day, that the Registry is only good for 3 or 5 years and that you have to re-register after your time expires.
Why don't they just make it permanent? | | |

THE NATIONAL DO NOT CALL REGISTRY
The National Do Not Call Registry gives you a choice about whether to receive telemarketing calls at home. Most telemarketers should not call your number once it has been on the registry for 31 days. If they do, you can file a complaint at this Website. You can register your home or mobile phone for free.
