"The DXer" ...

Hi, DXer:
My paper bill arrived yesterday, and as usual, I read the entire thing.
Sixteen pages. Over 550 calls. And yes, I had some "deferred billing" on
this statement.
Like another responder, I noticed that the late billings were from a small
provider outside my regular service area. In fairness, I should point out
that they were only late by a couple of days.
I agree that these minutes should not have been charged against your current
month's allowance. Keep the group posted on how VZW handles this for you.
By the way, a sixteen-page bill sounds like dry reading. But I picked up on
several calling patterns which can be adjusted for improved economy. My wife
handles all the bill payments. But she lets me scan the communications
invoices beforehand for accuracy. And sometimes it pays off, big time. A
few months ago, Alltel suddenly dropped my national long distance feature
and reduced my minutes by 100. A quick call to Customer Service restored the
LD, and they gave me back my original minute quota, PLUS another 100.
I would modify your subject line by dropping the words "latest" and
"Verizon". Check 'em all. Remember, computers are only human.

For you, in particular, DXer, an ideal time to read your bill might be under
this scenario: It's 5:50 AM. You're parked on 400 meters, listening to a
new station and waiting for them to ID at the top of the hour. Whip out the
VZW bill and scan it, while keeping an ear on the DX. (grin)
