Where You Can Take Your Analog

No, I'm serious. Verizon won't activate analog-only equipment (at least in
my area), but Alltel will put it on a local plan. I use their special
pre-paid plan, where the minutes do not expire as long as you make one
outgoing call every 30 days. There's also a Local Freedom Plan where for
$79.95, you get UNLIMITED anytime minutes!

The "home" area consists of North and South Carolina, chunks of Georgia,
west Florida, and portions of many other states.

So, where do you take that bag-phone treasure that you found in the thrift
store for $2? To Alltel. Enjoy it!

Re: Where You Can Take Your Analog

Vomit. Throw-up. Nausea. I called you people woosies and what do I get in
reponse- 20 or so world class dweebs reminiscing endlessly to the point of
nausea about how they love the good old days, mom and apple pie.
Unbelievable. Well, I guess I will have to stop now so I can go watch Wally
and the Beaver on TV. And after that I will have to catch the latest Sky
King on TV. I will be most of the younger dweebs here have no idea what Sky
King was!

Was that a Cessna 210 or a Twin Comanche?
I don't think it was big enough to be a Queen/King Air.....

I guess you told us- and I guess you see how highly your opinion is valued
here.

And don't waste your time on Wally and The Bav- I here your favorite episode
of Barney os coming on. You know, the one where he talks about what you
want to be when you grow up. Might come in handy for you some day.

Re: Where You Can Take Your Analog

Early on it was a Cessna T-50.
But soon Sky King and Penny found themselves in a Cessna 310-B.
That has to be the "Songbird" you remember.

I think I read recently that Kirby Grant was still living.

Re: Where You Can Take Your Analog

Er, ah, damned pesky FCC regulations..........always in the
way........

FCC tells them if you EVER had AMPS service and want to use AMPS
again.....they "have to" put your AMPS back on the air......which is
how I got mine back on the air.

They will not activate a NEW customer with AMPS equipment....or one
who never had AMPS on the air with its great range and Hi-Fi FM
sound.....(c;

Sorry....

"Songbird"....that was it. I was a kid in the CAP and once got to fly
in a 310 like "Songbird".....a real thrill back then when it was a new
plane!

Easy stuff:

1) A Cessna Bobcat T-50 and a Cessna 310B.

2) The "Song Bird."

As my wife says, I'm a wealth of worthless information!

Looks like I got in too late for the prize. :-(

Sky King was on at 12 Noon, and was sponsored by Nabisco.

At 11:30, My Friend Flicka, and at 11:00 was Fury (Jim, Joey,
and Pack Lambert).

Damn- you guys are making me feel like a baby, which doesn't happen too
often. My viewing started a couple of years after Sky King, although I do
have a glimmer of a memory.

TV Stuff... That's my forté. For some ungodly reason, I remember TV shows
that were on when I was as young as 2 years old.

That and $1.00 gets me on the bus!
