whats the benefit of getting a V92 modem over a V90?? and is there a particular modem brand that is v. good?? thnx guys

| from what i've heard there is no difference but you won't get disconnected as much, but your ISP needs to support V92 or it'll be the same as a V90 DSL rocks but i need to do some rewiring grrr my dsl connection has been dropping frequently today

| just call them up and ask if they support V92 or visit their website, it should tell ya. If not don't waste your money on a new modem

| i do need a new modem......this one is tht old, they dont even support it anymore, just wondered if i should go all out and get a v92

| once my contract wit msn is over dis july, im getting cable. if ur gonna want a new 56k modem, do what i did. get USR performance pro modem, v.92. i play online lots, and this modem has really made a difference in games like ghost recon, i can go toe to toe with peepz who have faster connections at times (of course not same thing as dsl/cable but much improvement). even if ur isp does not support a v.92 modem, it will connect with v.90. my old cheap hsp modem dont compare with da new one. | |||||
