sl55 problem

hello, i bought a siemens sl55 from hong kong and am now using it in the united states on the cingular network. the fone was purchased unlocked from HK.

the problem i have is whenever i try to send a SMS text message it just shuts down. i then have to turn the phone back on. whats the deal? is this a common problem? i have not tried to send any other type of text message. please help me out.

hey man, i have the 56 model and i have never heard of such a thing. i would contact siemens and see what they say...

I got one from HK too and everything works on my phone without shutting down on me. Yah i would go with liquidsg's advice and contact Siemens.

do you know wich soft ver.you have on this phone?
you can fix it by yourself you need a Computer,Service Cable(look for it on Ebay) ,an soft (many in tne net)...

yeah, i'm guessing i need to update the firm ware. i will need to buy the cable i guess.. can i do it using the ifra red port?

reinstal software, before you do that, copy database form cell in computer because you will lose it.
