I have written before about my issues with cell phones. How i don't get
this fascination with talking on the phone. But I do own a cell phone
and don't use it very much. My plan for a couple of years has been 50
free minutes during the week and 500 free weekend minutes. At 20$ per
month along with taxes and fees and insurance my monthly bill comes to
around 28$. I decided to cancel this plan and go to a prepaid card plan.
So i cancelled the original plan and today drove to the Verizon store
where I was told they would change my phone to the card plan and give me
a new phone number.
The customer rep was very efficient and told me about the card plan. He
said the cheapest card was $15 and good for 30 days. Here is where
things get fuzzy. He said the card costs .99 per day whether you use the
phone or not. After 15 days you then should buy a new card to add on to
the minutes of the first card. That comes to a cost of 30$ before the
first card expired. I think this is correct or I just don't understand.
He convinced me to keep my old plan which would be cheaper for me. I
agreed. He reactivated my old number and I am back to where I was.
I hardly ever use the phone and i see people waling around talking on
the phones. I have a lot of phone numbers of family stored in my phone
and im sure i might have to call them someday. Who knows, they might
like to hear from me. Bob
