Ummm.....7250i, maybe you should read the first post in this thread. Possibly the next few after that also. That is if your looking for a Staff Position here on CPF. They tell what it takes and how to go about asking/requesting.

Also, just because you have posted 100 times, doesn't mean you are being considered or qualified for a position, it just means you've met one of the qualification's required.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying your not qualified; maybe you've caught the attention of a Staff member and are being considered, who am I to know?

I take it some of the mods here are not reading other posts, making sure they are clean and things are going well in all threads.

There are a few banned people from this forum who are still posting in the forums. I think there's a few guys in the alt.cellular.nokia forum postin absolute garbage, has no1 actually done anythin?? its totally ruining the nokia forum

Well....welcome back to the forums.

I don't know what I would do if I lost internet even for a day. I think I'd understand what "jonesing" really is.

The "alt" areas are actually newsgroups that are made accessible through CPF as a courtesy. CPF mods have no control over the content of those areas as the folks there are not actually "Members" (as evidenced by their titles... "guest").

This serves the dual purpose of providing as much information to the board members as possible, and advertising CPF as each member who posts in the newsgroup will have a link to CPF in their post. These are the same newsgroups as can be downloaded to Outlook and other mail programs.

Maybe that's why they are asking for moderating help, the atmosphere here does seem a little different than WA doesn't Agent?

I've been a moderator on Wirelessadvisor.com for 3 years and have over 7000 posts there. If someone is needed for the Sprint forum I could probably give it a shot.

A number of our forums were, until recently, covered only by default by the board's SuperMods...

If you have experience on other forums you know that people occasionally 'move on' and become less active... these folks rarely resign their mod-powers because they most often think "things will calm down'... That's all understandable and not my beef...

What bugs me is folks who ask for the power... use it for 2 days... then abandon the responsibility (oft while continuing the social aspect of the board and flaunting ""this or that Mod" in their title or signature like a bad local cop and his/her badge).... ...

... but then again... I'm working on the worst kind of sleep deprivation here and pro'ly oughtta lighten up?

That's great, please help out all you can. Being a Mod you should already know that any help is greatly appreciated and most welcome.

I know this is probably all old to you, but maybe it will help others that read this, but, if you happen to come across a post that violates our CPF policies, you can still help out by finding out who the moderator(s) are of that forum, or a Super Mod and pointing out the post to them.

You can find out who the mods are in a couple different ways. ONE, while in a particular area, scroll down to the very botton of the thread and look in the right hand corner box. There will be a list of mod's there for that area.

TWO, go back to the Cell Phone Forum Index, and scroll all the way to the bottom, and look right below the Sport's thread. There is a link there that is called Forum leaders. It will list all the mods, Smods, and Admin's.

Now just look at who's online and from the list of mods, get ahold of the appropriate person.

It seems somewhat simmlar to what the WA was like in many ways with the old forums before when I was a guest not a member in 2003. If we all work with it we can help out many get their wireless diplomas.

I have seen some members make over 1000 posts then come back once in while. This can be due to many reasons. As long as you have enough regular almost every mods to keep things inline things go fine.
I do agree 100% that when things go out of controll they need to be tended to right away and not let things calm down on there own. And some threads don't ever need to be started like someing very controversial like CDMA vs. GSM or even something political or religious
