Need Help send a file from cpu to phone

I joined this forum bc im so sick n tired of trying to figure it out myself......... Ok so here's the problem:

I have the v710 with verizon and used pix/flix messaging to send an audio file(like 2 sec in length) to my phone. How do i convert that file to midi so i can set it as my ringtone.......... or would I have to convert it. When i sent it, the file was in mp3 format, but on my phone, it is a QCP file(qcp???????).

I remember doing this a long time ago with no problem. I went into itunes and changed the length of the song. Then, i just sent it......... or did i just forget a step this time?????????
