Reception Razr vs 815

Hi,
It's crunch time for getting the phone.
I don't need additional memory, cameras or MP3 files.

Just reliability and reception.

Razr users like the reception.
Has anyone compared the two for reception. From the reviews, the 815 is
great, but how does the Razr compare.

I used one in europe. When it got reception it was crystal clear and better
than any cell phone I'd ever used (from any brand) but that was the rub.
Manytimes when those around me (same carrier) had good reception the razr
had none. NOw I realize that it was gsm in europe but I can't help but
wonder if the same would hold here on the cdma version.

Really? I haven't heard any yet.
Makes sense since it has a stub antenna. I assume
you are referring to CDMA?

Got both in NYC...
No contest as the E815 wins hands down for reception.
The Razr is kool looking, light and cute but the for functionality the
e815 blows it away. The keypad on the razr sucks BTW. The hinge on the
e815 is so-so.
Overall, if you want a decent phone with style go for the razr.
If you want a solid phone with superb reception go for the e815.

Outside of areas requiring analog, my razr performs better than my 710, in
my non-scientific evaluaton.

Well it gives me better reception in the Empire State Plaza where I
never had service before. (All marble and steel in the plaza) then
again My Vx4400 never had good reception there. Also better reception
down NYC way so reception is better. Cannot say for any other
comparison model. Sorry.
