where is the fault? phone, sim or network?

Hi,

I have an 18 month old LG 8110 on 3.

I changed contract after a year for another 3 sim (on a 12 month cashback
deal) & sold the phone!

I am now having problems with call drop outs & loss of sound from my end (I
can hear the other person but they can't hear me). I always get a connection
but it just gets dropped after about 45 secs.

It happens not just at home but in many other places.

How can I tell where the fault is? I am trying to get the lend of another 3
phone but I cant find anyone using 3 that I know.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Sky

Sounds like the transmitter in the phone - nothing at far end and base
station drops you after 45s of [apparent] inactivity.

What happens if you go out of 3 coverage and force it to roam on O2?

not sure - how do you know when your on O2 - is it just that you don't have
3G or is it something else?
