Wireless, America's largest network, today announced that it is the
premiere wireless carrier in the United States to offer the SCH-u420
slim slider handset from Samsung Telecommunications America (Samsung).
The u420 is the first handset from Alltel Wireless to feature
newly enhanced Axcess Shop capability, enabling customers to download
rich content and data applications such as XM Radio and Axcess
Mobilcast, ringtones, games and more. The new Axcess Shop, built on
QUALCOMM's uiOne(TM) technology, features such applications as World
Series of Poker(R) Texas Hold'em by Glu Mobile, Realtone Jukebox(TM)
by 9Squared, and Axcess Wallpaper Powered by Digital Orchid.

appeal to customers who are looking for a phone that combines a
distinctive design with high-tech, easy-to-use features," said Wade

Samsung's u420 features a VGA camera, hands-free Bluetooth(R)
functionality as well as speakerphone, voice-activated dialing and
BREW(R) Client 3.1.4. It has picture, text and instant messaging
capabilities, and can display text in both English and Spanish. The
phone also is equipped with Axcess Web, which enables customers to
surf the Internet. Additional subscription fees and/or airtime charges
will apply for accessing the Internet.

debut of this model to consumers in the U.S., featuring a sleek slim
sliding form factor, in addition to superior voice and data features,"

Beginning tomorrow, Alltel customers can purchase the SCH-u420 for
$49.99 after a $30 mail-in rebate and get a second one for free. This
discounted price is available to new customers on two-year service
agreements as well as to existing eligible customers on qualifying
rate plans.
