This is sooo weird, back a year or more my BF got an alltel phone, but then couldnt afford it so just let them shut it off etc.
When I went to the alltel store to get a new phone he asked them what the balance was on it and they said it wasnt even listed as a number or an account anymore and that meant it went into the "we're not gonna get that money so screw it" file,(they didnt use those words..LOL)

so anyway, today my BF gets mail from a collections agency at his new address that hes only been at like 2 weeks, and the collections agency has been calling me. Anyone elze had to deal with odd stuff like thjis?

I wouldn't think it would be that odd. Generally, what happens is Alltel or some other business personally gives up on collecting it. Instead, they sell the account to a collection agency and then the collection agency pursues you for the money threatening some of the worst things you'll ever hear if you don't pay up. Check the statute of limitations in the state that you are currently living in and see how long you have to sit them out before they can't do squat about it. If they don't move quick they may be close to not being able to do anything against you.

Not really strange, alltel sold it off, but reactivating an account caused it to "pop" up on someones radar and here they are.
Don't buy what you cant afford...
