MMS Email to Phone

First of all, sorry if this is a repost within these forums. I've looked for something similar and couldn't find anything.

Anyways, I have MP3 ringtones that I made and I'm wanting to send them to my phone. My data cable is broken and the stupid phone doesn't support OBEX Push Profile Bluetooth. I have a Motorola V710 CDMA phone. Yeah... Anyways, sending a picture or mp3 to my phone feels impossible. I've tried numerous things (all possibly the wrong thing) and I just can't seem to get it to work. I've tried MYNUMBER@message.alltel.com with an attached mp3, but I only receive an SMS message with the filename like: Sbj: test|test <<mysong.mp3>>

So.. How can I send an MP3 to my phone using MMS?

Thanks in advance Rob

I'm not sure how to send a ringtone from e-mail to phone. But, if your using a V710 and memory serves. It has an expandable memory slot, correct? You could just upload the ringtone to the memory module using a reader and then inserting it into the phone.

I have a Motorola E815 and I have a memory module and I hook it up to my computer via USB connection. I have went through this what you say... BUT when I put the mem card back in my phone, I cannot put these ringtones into the ringtone area of my phone. Plz help.. what am I doing wrong?? Am I supposed to just put the tones in the motorola area or put them in the Ringtone folder? I have tried both and neither seems to work.
Advice anyway?

Thanks in advance.

Going by memory here. Once you access the card there should be a motorola folder. And in that folder there is a shared folder. In that folder is an audio folder among other folders as well. The audio folder is where you put your ringtones or music. Hope that works for ya. Let me know if you have problems.

HEY Bluetooth815..

Thanks so much for telling me how to do that. Maybe it is the phone I can't handle. haha I did what you said and now the sounds are in my Multimedia folder on the cellphone. I click one and then click the menu key and there is no direction telling me how to make it a ringtone. guess I am just lost today. What am I doing wrong? Where should I put this ringtone? In multimedia and how do I make it a ringtone on the phone? Am I in the wrong area? I even went to ringtones and it wasn't there. Sorry for typos. My PC took a dump and now I am learning how to use my laptop. haha

Thanks again,
Whatta Mixed up Woman haha

Re: MMS Email to Phone

Memory fails me now. Had to break out my old E815. Anyway, once you get the audio file or ringtone on the memory card where you can see it on your cell phone. Highlight the ringtone and then press the center key for options. In there you should find a move or copy option. Select which ever one you prefer. Once you select option copy or move, it should bring up a list of places you can copy or move the ringtone to. Copy or move it to the phone memory. Once that is done, you'll be able to select it as a ringtone. Sorry I wasn't more thurough in my last posting.

Re: MMS Email to Phone

Try uploading the mp3 or picture to a url, then send the link to your phone in sms and point the browser to that link. You should be able to save it onto your phone once you're at it.
