that was probably my post you just misinterpreted or misrepresented.
i went into a at&t store, signed my name for service, and waited for
service for an extended time despite the fact that there were several
at&t customer service reps not serving anyone. a few were just
chatting with each other.

i will admit i wasn't singled out, though, none of the customers
awaiting service were served.

Cellular service is a very complicated high technology
service which requires many specialists. You were just
viewing the many specialists that would not have been able
to answer your basic questions ;-)

I had the same problem when trying to buy $10 prepaid
service cards at the local Sprint wireless stores. I later
realized the unique skill of my specialist (a 30 minute
wait) was that she was the only one with the register key.

they had no idea what mi questions might be. i said i wanted to speak
with a customer service representative and, if none were available,
the manager.

that is probably true for sprint. what was once many sprint company
stores some years ago are now sleazy nextell/sprint stores selling
all sorts of other things. they appear to be giving up the ghost here
in the northeast.

My apologies- I apparently forgot the part of the story about you signing
in first.
