Yes. There are smart phoneS that can do this, as in there are several
of them... have been for a long time now.

Trolling? I'll bite. I've been connecting to either wifi or wireless
with my phone for about three years now, except for on Sprint's
CDMA
network.
I rarely need to connect to WiFi, because Sprint's
CDMA network is
faster than many DSL connections, where AT&T's
GSM wireless network is
barely faster than dialup.
The display on the iPhone is nice for watching multimedia.... as in
we've gotten the iPod Touch. But the iPhone only has about 10% of the
features that most Windows Mobile smart phones have.
Another benefit of Windows Mobile compared to the iPhone is you can
develop ANY app you want (mobile and desktop) with just a copy of
Visual Studio. It makes iPhone 3rd party development quite laughable.
