I'm not certain I understand the sync options for iPhones from AT&T's web
site. Specifically, do I have the get the Exchange ($45) data plan in order
to sync my contacts and calendar that reside in Exchange 2003 on my server,
either OTA or when connected to my client PC (WinXP Pro)?
If not, will I need to use IMAP to get my email from the server, and can the
iPhone be set up to download IMAP mail periodically?
I'm currently using WM6 on a Cingular 8525 phone, but I'm being tempted by
the iPhone. With WM6 I sync email, contacts and calendar OTA, and notes,
tasks, and files including SplashID connected to the PC. By the way, is
SplashID available for the iPhone?
TIA,
Bob

What are you talking about? SplashData has several applications
available for iPhone, including SplashID. Looks like it's been
available for over a month now.
Personally I don't like it, but that doesn't effect its availability.

I was there weeks ago to get it and try it out. App store for the
iPhone side and SplashData's site for the PC side. Tried it, and
decided I didn't like it. Wasted ten bucks on it, because there is no
"trial" concept in the App Store and Splash never even offered a refund
when I emailed them. Their web site now implies no refunds for the
iPhone app by stating they provide refunds for the desktop app only.

Then you're not looking at the right one.
I prefer eWallet from Ilium Software.

The iPhone version finally synchronizes with the desktop too, very nice.
