Xohm sent my email some webpages today about the rollout of Xohm's WiMax in
Baltimore, the first city. They lit the system up, today:

"We want you to be the first to know - XOHM is open for business!

Baltimore is the first city to experience next generation mobile broadband
from XOHM. There will be more news later today, so keep checking our News
and Events page for details."

"The network, which provides a lot of bandwidth, can also handle high-
definition video streaming, peer-to-peer file sharing and other capacity-
guzzling applications, says Lee Mellon, a Sprint field technician who has
been testing the WiMax network in Baltimore for weeks.

In Baltimore, Sprint is promising 2 to 4 megabits per second, though it
says surfing speeds can rocket to 10 megabits or more, depending on the
number and type of applications running. Conventional 3G wireless networks,
such as the one AT&T uses to support the Apple iPhone, average about 1.4
megabits."

Be patient....3G isn't bleeding edge....any more.

Online gaming from the park, anyone??
