    Bush's farewell present.

Most jobs lost in 34 years, that means since Republican Gerald Ford.

533,000 pink slips in November. Sure glad I've been self-employed since
1986. How stupid it is to work for someone ELSE's benefit.

You corporate loyalists must be very proud of all of them! Keep waving the
company flag! The company loves you, right?

    NOT!

    The company only loves M-O-N-E-Y.

Let's see if I have this right. The Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac fiasco
which brought down the housing market was caused by the deregulation
pushed by the Democrats, starting with Bill Clinton. The housing
crash caused the overall economy to go in the tank, which is causing
companies to go bankrupt, with thousands losing their jobs. Then of
course there is the Democratic controlled Congress, and of course
Congress controls the purse strings of the country, not the President.

Yep, must have been George Bush's fault.

Apparently people have a problem with supply and demand. Because the
democrats coerced banks into giving loans to people who couldn't afford to
buy homes the demand went up and the prices rose with the demand. When the
ARM loans came due they started bailing out and the bubble burst. Seems
like such a simple concept, but the media just can't seem to talk about it.

Found this in my email inbox tonight....very appropriate.

From a teacher in the Nashville area

We are worried about "the cow" when it is all about the "Ice
    Cream."

The most eye-opening civics lesson I ever had was while
    teaching third
grade this year. The presidential election was heating up and
    some of
the children showed an interest. I decided we would have an
    election
    for a class president.

We would choose our nominees. They would make a
    campaign speech
    and the class would vote.

To simplify the process, candidates were nominated by other
    class
members. We discussed what kinds of characteristics these
    students
should have. We got many nominations and from those,
    Jamie and Olivia
were picked to run for the top spot.

The class had done a great job in their selections. Both
    candidates
were good kids. I thought Jamie might have an advantage
    because he got
lots of parental support. I had never seen Olivia's mother.

The day arrived when they were to make their speeches
    Jamie went
first. He had specific ideas about how to make our class a
    better
place. He ended by promising to do his very best. Every one
    applauded.
He sat down and Olivia came to the podium.

Her speech was concise. She said, "If you will vote for me, I
    will
give you ice cream." She sat down. The class went wild. "Yes!
    Yes! We
    want ice cream."

She surely would say more. She did not have to. A discussion
    followed.
How did she plan to pay for the ice cream? She wasn't sure.
    Would her
parents buy it or would the class pay for it. She didn't know.
    The
class really didn't care. All they were thinking about was ice
    cream.

Jamie was forgotten. Olivia won by a land slide.

Every time Barack Obama opens his mouth he offers ice
    cream and
sixty percent of the people react like nine year olds. They
    want ice
cream. The other forty percent know they're going to have to
    feed the
cow and clean up the mess.

You're correct, it was all Bush's fault. We'll see what you say four years

Because your last statement is so accurate I will apologize if it was not
you who said it was all Bush's fault. I also didn't say that Bush wasn't
culpable for some of what happened. My biggest gripe is with the media who
won't do their jobs and give us the information and let us make the
decision on what we think is correct.

Have you guys seen the turn of several Republicans in the last week
AGAINST corporate bailouts like the car makers? I couldn't believe that
was possible, them all being so saturated with corporate contributions
for so many years. The whole place is flipping upside down!

I'm not being a wise guy here, but corporate donations are made to both
sides of the aisle, but a look at the contributu=ion records will show
democrats getting more of the big money donations. The other thing is not
some much the money but the power. Every time congress is controlled by
the democrats they put programs in place which insure votes from the lower
half of the wage earning population which only pays about 7% of the taxes.
Ninety three percent of taxes are paid by 50% of the wage earners who pay
taxes. This is why the housing collapse was the doing of the democrats who
pushed banks by threatening law suits under the Community Reinvestment Act.
The banks were also greedy because they thought they were being protected
by FM and FM which were being ripped off by Franklin Raines, et al.
Raines walked away with $94 million. Ken Lay spent a few years in jail for
$60 million earned the same way. Unfortunately this new administration has
been severely nicked by the Illinois governor scandal which will up the
investigation. Watch for Resko to stir the pot. I don't agree with
Obama's politics, but I believe when a person is elected he should get the
people he wants and should have to work his wishes through the elected
representatives to go along with what people want and expect. We are not a
democracy, we are a representative republic. If he suceeds in improving
the economy, I eat crow and we all benefit. If not the next election is
ready to test his agenda. I would just like to see someone with a clear
vision of capitalistic, free market ideas which provide opportunity. I am
totally against handouts. Bankruptcy is the proper venus in a free market
    to remedy a failing business.

The Federal Government arresting the IL Gov. for selling that Senate
seat is terribly hypocritical. If they'd clean up their own house, we
wouldn't be giving away billions to cronies called Bankers.

Actually, that's not true, either. The Gummit borrow it from the Federal
Reserve Private Bank Corporationn owned by the banking elite. Then, the
Gummit hands it out to whoever had the biggest campaign contributions to
    save their asses.

Your children will be paying for it...even your grand and great-grand
    children, not you.
