Assuming you get your $40 mail in rebate, and that it takes zero time
to apply to get that rebate, and that you beamed over to Frys, and
beamed homed home so that took no time either.

Not really reasonable to extrapolate a one time savings thanks to
iPhone to a per hour number, and make like thats happen 8 hours a day.

Me, I wait a week or two, and Frys has the same savings in the store.

Its what I do every year to get a 3-User Box of Norton Internet
Security for $9.99 after rebates. Just wait for the sale. Dont need an
iPhone or Nokia phone for that, just a glance at their Friday sale ad
in the paper, which I find easier, and faster than looking at their
    web site.

The first time I pulled that stunt was at a Barnes and Noble bookstore at
Christmastime about six or seven years ago- I was annoyed to find some CD
or DVD boxed set (I can't remember the actual product now!) was priced
sigificantly higher in-store than the price online I checked before driving
    to the store.

I sat down at one of the cutsey reading chairs in the store, whipped out my
trusty Casio E-115 Pocket PC, tethered it via IR to my Nokia 8290 cellphone
at the blazing 9.6k connection of the day, ordered the discs for in-store
pickup, then did some other Christmas shopping in the plaza while waiting
the half-hour or so in-store pickup orders took to process.

Another iPhone first! Five years before the iPhone existed!

Famous last words at Best Buy, pointing to the online price on my Linux
tablet tethered to the Alltel Z6m modem......"Will you sell me this at this
    price?"

At "this price" we usually have to get a manager to make a decision....(c;]

    What iPhone??

Another tactic is, pointing to the 2003 article about the "new laptop" Best
Buy is selling in 2008, "How much do you want for this 5-year-old laptop?"

There are real good reasons why Best Buy computers AREN'T hooked to a live
    internet router....

These are just some of them.....
