More iPhone problems on the way for Sprint and Verizon
As if the Apple iPhone wasn't enough of a headache for the
competition...
Wal-Mart isn't even selling iPhones yet, but the retailer already has
started a price war.
Best Buy today cut the price of the Apple handheld by $10, to $189 and
$289. The price requires a two-year AT&T service contract.
The price cut only lasts through Jan. 3, according to The Boy Genius
Report.
"To sweeten the deal a bit, Best Buy Mobile will also toss in double
reward zone points, amounting to about $10 in reward zone certificates
for the 8GB model and $15 for the 16GB," wrote Zach Epstein.
Wal-Mart, the nation's largest retailer, will begin selling the iPhone
before Jan. 1, Bloomberg News reported, quoting unnamed store
representatives.
Wal-Mart salespeople told the news service the retailer will begin
selling the phones on Dec. 28.
Wal-Mart is expected to sell the iPhone for $197 and $297 - $2 below
the traditional retail price.
