Sure glad I'm breathing used veggie oil fumes from my 1983 Mercedes diesel
    with no EMF...ZERO.

Not really all that interesting. The author observes "something in this
car bothers me", then moves to "this meter goes up" and immediately
jumps to causation without any further understanding.

It's possible that EM field really do bother her for some reason, but
since it's likely not the strongest EM field she's been exposed to (just
the highest that crossed her awareness) it seems silly to jump directly
    to blaming the EM fields.

I'd love to see her get tested in double-blind laboratory tests to see
if she really does react negatively.

The biggest problem with her idea (I won't even justify it with the word
"theory" at this point) is that it's not the battery that creates an EM
field at all, it's the electrical side of the engine.

Now maybe what she's seeing is the batteries' electrical reserves are
depleted and the gas engine is spinning the electrical engine to power
the auxiliary electrical items, but even so this would be nothing
compared to the fields the Prius cars (lower end and her model) generate
    while in motion.

More importantly, it's still nothing near the fields you can encounter
in your daily life that go entirely unnoticed.

Uh er.....how about standing in front of ship's navigation radar or fire
control radar. Now that is serious emf.

Stupid sun. We really should do something about it.

The air search runs more power. Look for AN/SPS-55. Serious RF power
    comes in great packages.

We could just block it out. The AGW alarmists tell us its the CO2 from
your Volkswagen Jetta that's warming up the planet. We no longer need the
    sun to warm it.
