Amusingly enough, a Sprint ad opening up in the upper RH quadrant
of the msnbc page bearing this article shouts, in 16px or larger italics,

Now, truly Unlimited data for your iPhone*

    with a 6px footnote:

    Restrictions apply

    Ya don't say :-) . Cheers, -- tlvp

That's what I get for blocking ads by modifying my Windows Hosts file. I
don't see any of the ads embedded on web sites. I just see the word
    "advertisement" but no actual advertisement.

I use a nice rich HOSTS file, myself, but its effectiveness is a function
of how often -- and from what source -- you keep it maintained. Mine may
not be quite up-top-date with the latest msnbc ad feeder domains.

Assuming you don't want to stream too much or use online backup or anything
    that uses much data.

Want to bet? In some countries that's all that's available.

Lots of things in life were "never designed" for how they're actually
    used. Such is life.

And that's because they don't have the network of copper/fiber optic
cable that developed countries have, and which were developed before
there was any wireless. This system is still far more robust than
    cellular.
