My son just abandoned his V60 and Verizon for a T616
and says he loves using his cell phone through his car's audio system
via the factory installed Bluetooth of his Toyota Prius.

He would have been happy to stay with Verizon had they had any bluetooth
    phone for sale.

    Sure is a terrific car!
My Sprint T608 and my son's T610 both work fine in the Prius...

Can you hear me now, Verizon?

What a colorful (yet succinct) description of your post, Frau Himmel!

I'm dumping four Verizon phones for this very reason. I have three
cars in my family with bluetooth and am in the process of switching
all four phones to AT&T. I would have liked to have stayed with
    Verizon, too.

    I dropped AT&T for Verizon.

A phone that can't reliably make calls didn't do me any good.

What kind of cars have bluetooth support? Are those 03-04 models generally?
Mine is 01 Subaru and it doesn't have it.

    Re: T616 - Bluetooth in a Prius

Acura, Lexus, Toyota, Chysler(Jeep), BMW all offer one or more models
    with bluetooth integration.

Verizon seems to be not interested in participating.

I did the same with a Cingular Motorola V600. Works very well. I
understand Verizon can't use GSM phones at this time and it is unlikely they
will convert to GSM. Their protocol is not compatible with bluetooth. If
they do, they will have to upgrade all their customers.

When the ultimate goal of AT&T WS, and Cingular, (although not announced)
T-Mobile, and all the worlds GSM companies is WCDMA, I doubt that you will ever
see a (current) CDMA company change to GSM.

Wrong... a CDMA phone can use Bluetooth. GSM is the connection between
the phone and the cellular network, not between the phone and the car.

    Re: T616 - Bluetooth in a Prius

Verizon should have 2 Bluetooth handsets out by the end of this year (and
most likely one in a few weeks)- the Motorola V710 and the Nokia 6255i.
These are CDMA handsets with the Bluetooth radio just like the GSM handsets
that have been out for several years but they support the newest Bluetooth
standard for extended talk times via lower battery consumption requirements.

You can read more about both phones on www.phonescoop.com
