Was told today that the V400 has a recall on it for the buzzing with a
headset problem. Also, Motorola is aware of a problem with battery life. My
battery lasts no more than 20 hours even if I don't make a call...

Check for the following on your box:

    model # SUG3625AA

If that's it, there could be a problem. Battery life is supposed to much
    longer than I am getting.

look for the new batch: SUG3625BA

Interesting. I called Moto and I was told there was no recall. Is this
    limited to Cingular?

    Re: Motorola V400 recall

There is no recall. Regardless of whether you phone is AA or BA, if it has
a problem return it. Some BA have problems, some AA's have problems. The
vast majority of both versions are fine.
