I had a Motorola 120t under the Cingular KIC prepaid plan. Through
some unfortunate circumstances the phone was destroyed. I'd like to
buy a replacement phone on eBay, but I want something that is easily
compatible with Cingular KIC. (i.e. I'd like to be able to call up
Cingular, read off a number on the phone, and have them activate me
with the new phone, saving the minutes I've already bought for the old
phone.) Are all Cingular Motorola 120t's compatible with KIC? What
other phones can I be assured of compatibility with? If it matters,
I'm in Arkansas.
Thanks!
Dan

Re: Cingular KIC prepaid compatible phones
If the Motorola phone is a GSM phone (with a sim card inside it behind the
battery), you should be able to just move that sim card to any GSM phone
that you purchase on eBay (so long at the phone is not locked to a
non-Cingular network).

The 120t is a TDMA phone.
That is why the put the "t" designator behind it.
Ones I know of that can directly replace it.
V60t
V60ti
C331t
C332t
C353
T2297
V2397
M3097
ST7897
P8197
(plus many more that I don't know of)
Some don't put the "t" "c" or other designations on
the end of the model.
They just call it a TDMA phone.
You want a dual mode, dual band phone.
Analog and TDMA.
800Mhz and 1900Mhz bands
If you live in a area covered by a large expanse of 800Mhz coverage,
they may even let you activate a single band, (dual, or single mode) phone.
That will hold you over until you get a better phone, if you can't find
one that you want very quickly.
And get a phone that was previously used under cingular,
that way, you don't have to worry about it being locked.

OK, so to clarify -- will any and all Cingular Motorola 120t
cellphones be compatible with the KIC prepaid plan?

Yes.
Even if it is locked, they are the one that locked it,
so they are perfectly capable of reprogramming it for your account.
