Re: Does Cingular offer this discount?

    Yes,
I am amazed at People like Elmo who think a quick call can get factual
    answers from the wireless companies.
Nextel is the only one that will inform me of my companies discounts
unless I ALREADY know of them AND know the discount codes.
I for one get MORE INFO and MORE FACTS from usenet than I have from
    ANY of the wireless companies.
I tried this approach and was told "No such discounts available to you
sir"....at least they called me Sir
    hahahaha
Elmo....didn't mean to flame ya, but you obviously have little
experience/knowledge in this particular area. But at least your reply
does show that you can reason which many people here cannot.
I have also came to the usenet to get info about the FREE DATA
that most people pay T-Mobile for. It is included in the plans of
$39 up. But they do not tell you and will happily sign you up for
additional $$. The information here is sprinkled with false info on
occassion as you stated...but MOST of the information I have found
here is actually useful, informative and helpful!!!
    JUST my 2c worth......

So where do these "Scientific answers" come from????
I am one of those who fill out the questionaires and keeps the $1.00
for services rendered for my scientific results. My neighbor does have
different experiences than I on the same services. The companies
compile the results and publish them. The people here (usenet) seem
to give better % results than those mentioned in your reply.
I for one am thankful for the newsgroups info....
    more informative...
    more opinionated....
    more arguementative....
    more options.....
not just a cut and dry review based on a set number of questions.....
I am one who usually has sat back and read the posts....
but have definately benefitted from them....
even the negatives have been food for thought and opened my thoughts
    to other possibilities....

    Yeap,

Cingular will operate at 1900MHz, AT&T at 850MHz. One day their networks
will be combined BUT some phones will affiliate at 850MHz, others at
    1900MHz.

You stand a better chance of getting a factual answer that way than
sitting on your fat lazy ass typing a post into Usenet, that's for sure.

Well, you've already seen many answers posted here, and I'd post my own
if I actually knew it. Truth is I don't, but a Cingular CS rep should,
since their employer is statutorily obligated to answer this query
accurately when asked. IOW, if they don't provide an accurate answer,
and you learn they were wrong, the State Attorney General would like to
know about it, and no, it doesn't matter what state you're in.

Cingular, as well as other wirless service providers, offer rate
discounts to a variety of customer groups, largely predicated on
corporate service contracts, one of which may employ you. Often times,
obtaining discounted service via your employer's contract requires the
employee to request service via an internal service administrator, ie.
HR dept, who in turn coordinates the new service start-up process with
the wireless provider. If you believe you may qualify for this type of
service, and aren't sure whom to contact, it would be my recommendation
to ask your immediate manager or someone with your company's corporate
communications. Who knows, maybe even the Cingular CS rep would know -
    it can't hurt to ask.
