Does Cingular offer one-year contract?

Went through their website and all I see is two-year contracts for
Nation GSM Plans. Don't want to be tied for two years, but then the
rest of the deal on phones and plans all look good to me. Do they
offer one-year contract?

up and ask for one year contract? Do they charge more on anything for
that?

The promotions are not usually as good, so you will probably pay more than
you would for the same service on a two year agreement.

the biggest difference is in the up-front cost.

This is at the Cingular store here, other locations may vary-

The Phone I got was $29.00. with a 2 year Contract, (i didn't get one of the
free phones) I could get a 1 year contract for $79.00 more.

(I hope I remember the numbers right)


Anyway, I went with the 2-year Contract, because the Contract is figured at
$240.00 Pro-rated 0ver 24 Months- ($10.00 a Month) the 1 Year Contract (and
this is the one the Independant dealers don't mention) is $240.00 Pro-Rated
over 12 Months ($20.00 a month).


IOW- It's gonna cost the same to buy out of the Contract if you need to, no
matter 1 year or 2 year-

the 1 year would really cost more, because you've paid for the Phone up
front.

Best Buy. Free T616 and S307, 1 year contract.

Nuff said.

I will personally only deal with a big name store instead of a corner Mom
and Pop store, but that's just me.

According to my calculations there are two points where the cost of 1
year vs 2 year contracts change relative to the other. If you expect
to terminate the contract in 4 months or less, the 2year contract plus
phone is cheaper. However the costs are even in month 5. Months 6-18
are less on the 1 year contract. Then you break even again in month
19. So If you expect to keep the same contract and phone for
4 months or less 2 year contract;
5 months , flip a coin
6-18 months 1 year contract
19 months, flip a coin
20-24 months 2 year contract

What about the rest of the post- I asked for some links- are you saying that
the company you work for has secrets? They must be hiding these things
because they are in trouble and getting ready to go under- after all, that
is what you say everytime you aren't sent a personal press release about the
workings of major corporations.

on Network ependitures, and it was discovered by a Wall Street Analyst.

How do you think the analyst got a hold of the numbers? Could they have
been from.....oh, I don't know.....Cingular? And if you say no, then
