I've decided to wait for the Motorola V600 as my next Cingular phone
(rumour puts it on the Cingular plate by end-of-month)
I'd like to get a second battery, home charger, car charger & headset for
it. I know this stuff can be had for cents on the dollar from eBay but
does someone have a cheap online retailer in mind that the quality is a
bit more consistent than the eBay monsters?
Thanks. bp

I'm not sure what you mean by that. If you have a specific accessory in
mind, you can find it on ebay. Then your only concern is to make sure you
are buying from someone with 98.5% or better positive rating. If it is
quality of components you are interested in, then only bid on brand new
Motorola branded items or aftermarket makers of known quality. I've
purchased many accessories from ebay for our two Motorola T720 phones. The
only accessory I bought that wasn't a Motorola branded item was a desktop
dual charger, and even that uses a Motorola branded travel charger. Thus,
only the stand is not Motorola, but the phones are being charged by a
motorola charger when on the stand. (I don't like the looks of the Motorola
brand desktop charger)
You might have to wait a while for the second battery. It appears there is
only one battery compatible with V600, and I could only find a couple of
vendors through bizrate that carry it. But your SYN0707 car charger
(Motorola) has been around a while and is easy to find. It didn't take me
long to locate one for ~$7 from a ebay vendor with a 99.8% approval rate
based on thousands of feedbacks. Then try to find one reliable vendor that
carries car chargers, home chargers and headsets and offers to combine
shipping charges from multiple auctions, and you've got a great plan to get
all the accessories you need, cheap. For that matter, vendors often combine
several accessories in one auction with one shipping charge. It might be a
bit early to find one of these for the V600 though.
Yeah, there's a lot of crap and unreliable vendors on ebay, but if you put
just a tiny amount of effort into weeding through the garbage, you can get
exactly what you want cheap, from reliable ebay vendors. It's not that
tough. Easier than searching the web for reliable vendors, in fact. And if
you do that, you are on your own in deciding if the vendor is reliable or
not. Me, I'd rather know that ~99% of buyers were happy with any vendor I
do business with. Especially for small stuff like cellular accessories,
ebay is a great place to shop. -Dave

The V300, V400 battery will work in the V600. Same size, same voltage
(3.6v). Only difference is that V600 is 750 mah as compared to 700 for
the V300/400.
You battery might last 12-24 hours less on standby.

My only thought is that when you use non orginal products you could void your warranty on the handset if something goes bad. Yes it could be hard for the Tec to Tell, that you used a non- OME product, but remember. Sometimes you get the Bear, and Sometimes the Bear gets you. Dont find yourslef pissed at a Tec who won't replace your phone.
