Not to worry, I won't.

I figure Nextel's service is about equivalent, coverage-wise, to
Cingular's GSM service.

Since I have Cingular TDMA right now, with nation coverage, I'm spoiled.
If there's a signal--and there's virtually always a signal--I'm making a
"local" call. I know that if I move to Nextel, that coverage area will
lessen--but no less than if I move my Cingular account from TDMA to GSM.

I love the idea of GAIT, but dammit, why did they make 2 phones and then
stop?
